Cherish your journeys with a personally curated art journal
What better way to enhance your wonderful travel memories than with a your own customized journal?
I have been journaling for years, both for my own use and for traveling and I can tell you they add a huge dose of depth to any experience. Get create with your lettering – your drawings – your quotes!
A cheap lined notebook or an expensive leather bound one will both work fine.
At the minimum I’d suggest bringing colored pencils to use for writing and drawing. If you want to take things up a notch I’d suggest…
– A mini box of watercolors
– Washi tape
– Markers
– Gel Pens
– Glue Stick
Here are a few ideas for items to make your journal POP!
Gather these items along your travels to make the memories tangible.
– Napkins
– Disposable menus
– Coasters
– Tickets
– Receipts
– Pamphlets
– Coins
– Plane tickets
– Maps
– Attraction tickets
– Matchbook covers
Use your imagination and have fun!
Adding your thoughts, feelings, and reactions will serve to make your book even more enticing! Write about what surprised you and what didn’t. What you learned, the people, the sounds, the food, the smells, the architecture, etc. And don’t forget to add pictures! This is where Polaroids come in handy.
There are tons of books available on this subject. One I recommend is “The Art of the Travel Journal” by Abby Sy.
Dive in and explore this fun-tastic way to creatively document your trip – you won’t be sorry!
